Agricultural Food Chain in Venezuela

Motivation

• To apply the foresight method in one of the Agricultural Food programs launched by the Department of Science and Technology.
• To introduce a foresight vision for the Root Crops Program in order to deliver recommendations for the prioritization of research fields that would require help from the Program.
• To develop a foresight model for a food sector.

General Objectives

• To help research programs, launched by the Department of Science and Technology, with the foresight methodology.
• To identify specific objective of the Root Crops Program in order to design an application model for the foresight method in the Food sector.

Specific Objectives

• To identify the main drivers which are influencing the behavior of the system.
• To estimate the development trend and to choose and design the scenario which is the most attractive for the Social Actors, with the proposition to start constructing it today.
• To establish future scenarios that can happen in the selected model in the next 10 or 15 years.
