EUFORIA - Improvement of Living and Working Conditions in Europe
Description
EUFORIA is a project of the European Foundation for the Improvement of
Living and Working Conditions dedicated to provide improved information about the implications of those contemporary
changes that lead to commentators speaking of a "knowledge society", especially for working life and living conditions.
Additionally, as we shall see, Foresight can play a role in building new networks between those who possess various
sorts of information and knowledge relevant to understanding the dynamics and outcomes of change, and of ways of
intervening in and seizing opportunities provided by these developments.
Objectives
The activity is of use to a wide range of actors - managers and policymakers, trade unionists and voluntary organisations.
The information provided by Foresight activity can be widely used and it can inform decision making in many ways.
Additionally, the new networks that Foresight may help forge can provide ways of accessing intelligence to help deal
with emerging challenges and to build initiatives around new strategies, and directions of change.
Delphi Study
Euforia looked at life as a mix of living conditions, working conditions and industrial relations through experimental, developmental and future-oriented methods in which the Delphi survey played a key part.
PREST, in collaboration with Atlantis (Greece), Empirica (Germany) and FFRC (Finland) carried out the Euforia cross-national multilingual online Delphi survey. The Delphi has focused on issues related to the European Knowledge Society and its impacts on living conditions, industrial relations and working conditions by the year 2015.
