Economic Foresight of Peru

Description

With the objective of stimulating the interactions between the academic, private and public sectors in technology foresight related issues, at national and international levels, the Consortium Prospective Peru promotes a series of foresight activities oriented towards the construction of a sustained and sustainable future for Peru.

Objectives

The main purpose of the Peruvian workshop was the identification of key areas towards which the recently established consortium's research will be oriented in the immediate future. Participants agreed that the use of open brainstorming surveys provided valuable background information and a solid floor to support and justify research activities.

It was also understood that strategic thinking and systemic evaluation of brainstorming results were needed in order to identify the important drivers conditioning the future of the system (Peru).

The use of cross-impact method was seen as an effective approach to identify those key research areas. It provided a picture of the explicit (opent to the eye) relationships between drivers as well as representation of hidden interconnections. The objective of the workshop was to pinpoint key drivers and provide both advised on policymaking and comprehensive research for the Technology Foresight Programme of Peru.
