Shared Vision of the Future
Description
The purpose of this foresight study is to shape the development of the National Experimental University Francisco de Miranda, State of Falcon, Venezuela, with the panoram that defines the first twenty years of the 21th century, being conscious that the world has changed radically in the last years and that mega-tendencies of much force (like the globalization, the society of knowledge, technology and the speed of information) burst in with energy on the dawn of this new Millennium.
Foresight Study
This foresight study has been carried out by directors, professors, students, ex-students of the different Faculties from the University and the community of Falcon, carrying the weight of the design and construction of its future.
Its intention is to obtain a long term vision for the academic, organizational and economic development of the University, in order to maintain its competitiveness against the challenges of dynamism of the present century.
In order to operate these premises we use the principles and tools of Foresight, a discipline that has the purpose of scrutinizing and conceiving the future, in order to build with greater clarity in the present. Therefore, the study has as its aim the identification of the factors that characterize the present situation of the University, through the determination of "strategic variables" which it discloses.
These initial conditions allow the prediction of the evolution of the sector by means of scenarios that mark their possible development in the horizon of the year 2020.
