Facilitated Live Consensus Sessions
Calibrum plans and facilitates live group decisions using Surveylet and a Real-Time Delphi workflow. Participants rate independently, review anonymized feedback, and reconsider their responses during a conference, workshop, advisory board, or consensus meeting.
Structured decision-making while the group is together
A Live Consensus Session uses a Real-Time Delphi-style process during a conference, workshop, advisory board, committee, or leadership meeting. Participants respond independently, review anonymized group feedback, and can reconsider their position while the session is still in progress.
The session records agreement, remaining disagreement, and issues that need follow-up. Calibrum supports the process and technology; your chair or subject-matter lead provides the context for discussion, and participants make their own judgments.
A standard engagement may include
Session planning
Planning meeting, decision-objective review, session structure, timing, participant workflow, and moderator coordination.
Question preparation
Preparation and refinement of statements, options, priorities, rating scales, comments, and reconsideration prompts.
Surveylet configuration
Session-specific Surveylet setup, participant instructions, access workflow, feedback displays, and testing.
Technical rehearsal
One rehearsal or run-through to validate the participant experience, moderator flow, timing, and result display.
Live support
Remote facilitation or technical moderation, participation monitoring, response review, and support during the session.
Post-session outputs
Data exports and a concise summary of results, consensus, disagreement, and priority findings as defined in the engagement.
How the session works
Best-fit uses
Conferences & workshops
Turn an audience or working group into an active, structured decision-making panel.
Expert advisory boards
Collect independent expert input before discussion and document how views change after feedback.
Committees & leadership groups
Support priority setting, recommendations, standards, strategic choices, or unresolved options.
Research agenda development
Prioritize research questions, evidence gaps, outcomes, or future initiatives.
Standards & policy development
Structure complex group judgments where multiple perspectives need to be documented.
Large-group deliberation
Give every participant an independent voice instead of relying only on those who speak first or most often.
Questions about live consensus facilitation
How does this differ from a live poll?
A poll captures a response at one point. A facilitated consensus session adds a planned question and rating framework, controlled group feedback, and time to reconsider. The result records both agreement and unresolved differences rather than treating the most popular answer as consensus.
Can a session follow online Delphi rounds?
Yes. A hybrid Delphi design can bring unresolved or high-priority items into a live meeting. For a core outcome set study, the protocol should explain which outcomes the meeting will consider and how final decisions will be made.
Is live facilitation included in Complete Survey Care?
Live Consensus Sessions are a separate event service. Complete Survey Care covers agreed survey implementation and operational support. Define the live agenda, moderator responsibilities, rehearsal, support format, and post-session outputs when requesting a session quote.
To plan your session, send the decision objective, draft questions, participant count, event format, available time, and desired output. We will agree the question scope, feedback approach, decision rules, and facilitation responsibilities with your team.
Planning a conference, workshop, or expert meeting?
Tell us the decision your group needs to make, expected participant count, session length, and event format. We can recommend an appropriate Live Consensus workflow.
